The research group lead by Dr. Juan V. Esplugues, which forms part of the Biomedicine and Pharmacology Research Unit of FISABIO-Hospital Doctor Peset-University of Valencia-University Jaume I of Castellón and whose laboratory is situated in the Department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valencia (Spain), requires candidates with a strong research background to back in their applications for funding for post-doc researchers (Sara Borrell, Juan de la Cierva, Vali+d):

Candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

        • A strong record of publications, including articles as first author.
        • Previous pre- or post-doctoral stays abroad.
        • Doctorate obtained since 1 January 2011.

Previous experience in the field of hepatic disease and a good level of spoken and written English will be positively valued.

The successful candidates will form part of our ANTIRETROVIRAL research line, whose main objective is to characterise the cellular and molecular mechanisms implied in the adverse effects associated with the combined therapy administered to treat HIV, principally at the hepatic and metabolic levels, with the aim of determining the most innocuous combinations of these drugs.

We are a multidisciplinary and highly competitive research group with 5 publicly funded research projects currently underway and having been awarded in the last 3 years the following post-doc contracts - 1 Ramón y Cajal, 1 VALi+d, 2 Juan de la Cierva and 1 Sara Borrell – and the following pre-doc contracts/becas - 4 PFIS, 2 FPU, 1 FPI and 4 VALi+d.
